Japanese beetle hot zone treatment begins

Beginning May 19, 2025, Mesa County, in partnership with WD Yards, Inc., will begin Japanese beetle eradication treatment on properties within the hot zone. The treatment includes application of Acelepryn (Chlorantraniliprole), a pesticide that is considered safe for humans, pets, pollinators and birds while effectively targeting Japanese beetles in the grub stage.
