Stage 1 Fire Restrictions enacted

Effective beginning 12:01 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, until further notice. These restrictions apply to all private land and BLM managed public lands within the boundaries of the Grand Junction Field Office. For more information visit the Fire Restrictions webpage.

Mesa County leaders recently provided an exclusive educational experience for the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class. The day-long event included insightful presentations from various department heads, each focusing on a different aspect of county operations.

The session offered a deep dive into the real-world mechanics of governance, spotlighting Mesa County’s role in their daily lives. From public safety and infrastructure development to environmental conservation and economic planning, the class was guided through the multifaceted responsibilities that keep the county moving forward.

​The primary objective of the session was to demystify the processes behind policy development and governmental decision-making.  

The session also​ showcased the importance of public engagement in developing and refining local initiatives by encouraging open dialogue and collaboration between government officials and citizens.
